  11. We all know best that we depend on technology to communicate with others; this is where communication and tech combines in together. Through the telephone, computer, television and etc, we can see/ hear the outside world. We can use these to socialize with others at home. Also, they can be used for occupational purposes. Many jobs can be done at home merely through the computer; such as website designing, etc. This also ties in with business; jobs can be done at home with the proper technology. We often use these for convenience, to do work faster. Most businesses require such technology, in order to be efficient.

  13. The centeral processing unit (CPU)handles the centeral management functions of the PC.The monitor serves as the computer a screen and allows you to see what is going on.The hard drive stores all the data in the computer. The keyboard is probably the most improtant peripheral device for the computer and it allows you to put data into the computer.

  14. You would use ICT during all forms of professional environments. Businesses need ICT to interact with one another and perform multiple functions. That way, it is more efficient for the business to run. Schools are a type of business, therefore it requires ICT to operate. At school, ICT is not as important, but to establish a proper home netowrk, ICT is also very important.
The four functions of the computer are: Input, Process, Storage, and Output. All four components are required for a working ICT environment, helping the businesses, schools, and homes.

  16. You can use ICT at home when you have to repair your computer, ex. computer hardware. You can use it at school when you have to do research for projects, ex Internet. You can use it at business when you have to purchase a computer.

    Components of the computer
    1. Monitor
    2. Keyboard
    3. Mouse
    4. Storage drives

The monitor is used as an output device. It shows information.

The keyboard is an input device. When you type, the information goes on the computer.

The mouse is an input device. GUIs

Sotrage devices are for storage. They store information that have been put on the computer.

ICT - help me to present my work for my classmates

MOUSE - is a small object that is designed to fit neatly under the palm of your hand

KEYBOARD - evolved from an earlier office workhorse, the typewriter.

Computers consist of many chips placed on electronic boards called printed circuit boards.

Floppy drive(s) - A floppy is a small disk storage device that today typically has about 1.4 Megabytes of memory capacity.

  19. Without Information and Communication Technology, our life would fail. We need communication technology to talk with people, since most people talk with their friends online more than they talk in person. ICT is also used for communication between people when both parties aren't online at the same time (email).

When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a Waving Flag
And then it goes back, and then it goes back
    And then it goes back

Born to a throne, stronger than Rome
But Violent prone, poor people zone
But it’s my home, all I have known
Where I got grown, streets we would roam
But out of the darkness, I came the farthest
    Among the hardest survival
Learn from these streets, it can be bleak
    Except no defeat, surrender retreat

So we struggling, fighting to eat and
We wondering when we’ll be free
So we patiently wait, for that fateful day
It’s not far away, so for now we say

When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a Waving Flag
And then it goes back, and then it goes back
    And then it goes back

    So many wars, settling scores
Bringing us promises, leaving us poor
I heard them say, love is the way
Love is the answer, that’s what they say,
But look how they treat us, make us believers
We fight their battles, then they deceive us
Try to control us, they couldn’t hold us
Cause we just move forward like Buffalo Soldiers

But we struggling, fighting to eat
And we wondering, when we’ll be free
So we patiently wait, for that faithful day
It’s not far away, but for now we say

  24. I would use ICT at home if I was working on something on the computer related to Information and Communication Tech. (ICT). I would use the knowledge I receive in BTT in the things I do.

    Components of a computer:
    1. hardware is the physically tangibale compnents of a computer.

    2. softwater is the things that tell the computer what to do.

  25. Computers are useful tools while doing work at home, school, and work. For example, technology is useful while completing schoolwork and projects. As technology improves and gets better, it is playing a greater role in our lives. The 4 components of the computer are input, storage, process, and output. Input inputs data, storage keeps in information, process is the brain of the computer, and output outputs information.

  26. I would use ICT when I am at home working on an assignment. When I am doing a project at home, I first input my information into a word processor like Microsoft Word and then it takes what I've put in and processes it. (checks for spelling mistakes, grammar). Afterwards I would save a copy on my USB (storage) and then I would also print a copy out (output). I would use a laptop or a desktop computer to complete this task.
We use ICT everyday to communicate with each other, people rely nowadays on computers to do their work and businesses can plan out their sales and production in the long term with new softwares.

Using the ICT at home, at school and business, I can be more organized, make more of what I can do in the time amount of time I am provided, and the qaulity of the work I present wil be better. Having the knowledge, I will use the different softwares that I have practiced and learned how to use, and apply the different techniques on assignments, and projects that I have been given. Because of these techniques, I can get my work done faster, and make my work look much more professional.
Input, Storage, Process, Output. When typing up this very comment on the blog, I am inputing data. I am using a keyboard, to do so. When I post the commment, the website must store the text, and post it, so that everyone else that has followed the blog can see it. At last, my comment will be posted (output, this way we can efficiently have an online educational discussion as a class.

  28. I would use ICT to study and learn new things. Monitor operates like a TV set lets the user see how the computer is responding to their commands, keyboard is used to input informations to the computers, hard disk drive is where your operations system installs, and used to store files. The last one is CPU, which is Central Processing Unit, it is like a brain of a computer, it is the most important component of a computer.

  42. The 4 components of a computer are input, processing, storage, and output.

Input is used to give instructions to the computer or put information inside. (eg. a mouse) Processing is when the computer converts the data given from the input and turning it into information, which it then stores. (the storage part)The output is when the computer gives out the information. (eg. monitor)

ICT is used for various reasons at various locations. At home, we use ICT to get news, email/instant message people, and to find entertainment. At school, we use ICT to get information, research, and learn. At business, we use ICT to send contracts, information, proposals, and advertise.

The four components of computers are:
Input - Responsible for putting data into computer, such as typing this comment here right now.
Storage - Responsible for saving any work that has been inputted into the computer, such as using random access memory to save the data that is typed in this comment box
Process - Whenever data is pushed into the computer, the computer translates (processes) the information into binary codes in order to store it (0100100001101001001000000111010001101000011010010111001100100000011010010111001100100000011010010110111000100000011000100110100101101110011000010111001001111001 would be "Hi this is in binary")
Output - Result given after the previous three components, output would equal the text shown in the monitor.

Microcomputers are used for everyday life, an example of a microcomputer would be our personal computers.
Minicomputers are used in workplace environments to process information.
Mainframe computers are huge computers used to process a lot of data for working conditions.
Supercomputers are computers with high end performances, often used for resource-heavy application (softwares) such as Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, etc.

  48. ICT is used at home through the extensive use of computer technology. Internet is used for browsing and easy communication online with peers. At school, the computers are used for research assignments, and software such as Word and Powerpoint are used by students and teachers for assignments and presentation purposes. At the workplace, computer knowledge is necessary to purchase computers that are suited for their specific field of business as well as everyday use, such as in the field of economics.
    Four components of computers include.
Input: when putting in data into the computer for processing. ex. typing on the keyboard.
Processing: computer changing data into information.
Output: the computer displaying the information. ex. on the monitor/screen.
Storage: keeping the information inside a part of the computer.

  50. I use ICT at home to complete school assignemnts, for example I would use what i learned during the file managament unit to manage my files and make my computer more organized.
The four components of a computer are:

Input: this is the part of the computer that enter the data in. for example the keyboard enters the letter as I type.

Storage: this part of the computer takes the entered data and stores it somewhere, for example, I would use a USB to save the work and notes I would take during Business class

Process: This part of the computer takes the inputed data and coverts it so the comptuer can understand, for example the CPU.

Output: this part of the comptuer is where the information and data stored or inputed in the computer is displayed, for example a moniter.

  51. there are 4 major components of computers which is made into an acronym called ISPO. ISPO stands for input, storage, processing and output.

Input is where you enter data into a computer. One device that does input is a mouse or keyboard. These devices put information in the computer.

Storage is the part of the computer where the computer stores things that have been saved. An example of this would be a usb, or the hardrive.

Processing is what runs the computer. These devices process information. A device that does this is the motherboard. The motherboard runs the whole computer. It processes all the information and runs the computer.

Output shows the user things on the computer. A device that does this is a webcam, which can also be classified as input because it films you, a monitor, because it shows images or videos on the screen, and the CD drive because it puts our discs. A CD drive can also be classified as input as well.

By learning about ICT, I can use it at home when my work requires knowledge about the four main components of computers. I would use a laptop at home to complete my tasks because it would be portable and easy-to-use. If something is wrong with a component, I would have to know what it was to repair it. At school, I can apply what I learned to improve the clarity and technical compounds of my assignments, and even increase the speed that I work at. In business class knowing aboout ICT is essential to our success because we will use computers primarily to complete our work.We use desktop computers that are designed for Windows XP to maximize our ability.

The four components of computers are:

Input-Devices used to give the computer information to store and process. Ex. keyboard

Storage: Devices that take in the information given using input devices and keep in for future use. Ex. Hard Drive

Processing: The internal component that takes stored information and makes it usable for humans. Ex. CPU

Output: An external component that displays and shows the user what the result of their input was.

  53. The 4 different components of the computer are Input Storange Process Output (ISPO). Input is when something is placed into the computer. Such as a keyboard or mouse. The keyboard inputs data in the form of binary code which is then later processed into letters and numbers. Storage is like memory how a computer stores information. Some examples would be a memory stick or DVD. Process is the act of computing. An example would be a graphics card. The last one would be output. Which is when a computer lets out information. Such as speakers which release sounds.

By using ICT at home and school, I can be connected to the rest of the world (internet)by accessing information on the mainframe in the centre of my network. ICT makes my life easier because I can do projects and schoolwork on microcomputers at school and at home, instead of writing everything on paper, and that also results in better organization, better quality, and better clarity. ICT is also used in business for higher efficiency.

The 4 components of computer are input, output, processing, and storage. Input is the entering of data into the computer, like I am doing as I type out this comment using the keyboard. Then the data i inputted gets processed in the CPU in order to become information. Finally, the information appears on the monitor (output)and that's how everyone can read my comment. Storage refers places holding information inside the computer, like when I favourite this website.

  57. ICT can be used in many different ways at home, I use ICT by communicating with other people even tough they are far away from me. like using your email or the texting others.

The 4 main parts of a computer are:

    1: Input e.g mic
    2: Storage e.g harddrive
    3: processing e.g ram(memory)
    4: output e.g Monitor

in school, a network of computers are used. this means that you can acess any account from any computer in the school.

  59. Technology like the television, internet and radio keep us connected to everything around the world. The phone and computer also help with socializing with friends as well as business partners. The newer communication technology helps with businesses by enabling practically instant communication with people all around the world This also ties in with business; jobs can be done at home with the proper technology. Most businesses must have technology in order to keep on track and be efficient. In school ICT technology helps with research as well as providing a neater alternative to writing your essays, you can now type up essays. The four components of the computer is Input Processing Storage Output.
Input devices are object which can put data into the computer, examples of these devices are the keyboard, the mouse and the microphone

Once the data is put into the computer a Processing device is used in order to change the data from binary code into useful information.

When the data has been processed then a storage device is used in order to keep the information. The information can be stored in the computer by a hard drive or the info can be stored by external devices such as a floppy disk or a USB.

Output devices are devices that take the information from the computer and make it available out of the computer an example of this is a printer or a projector.

I use ICT at home when I go on msn or when I play games and listen to music on the internet. I use ITC at school when I am in BTT and when I am researching something.

The four components to a computer are: Input, Storage, Processing, and Output. Input is to enter data into the computer. Storage is to store and keep all your information. Processing is when the computer takes all the data from the input and turns it into information. Output is when the computer gives out all the information. Here are some examples of each below.

    Input- mouse or keyboard
    Storage- Hard Drive or USB
    Processing- RAM
    Output- Speakers

  61. I would use ICT anywhere technologies such as computers, televisions, and phones, are there, including at home, at school and at business in the future if I get one to work for. At home,I use all kinds of technologies for various purposes. I use them for socializing, for knowing the updated news, and for listening to music etc. At school, I usually use the computer for academic and educational purposes like writing a document or researching on speicific topics. By the time I get old enough to use technologies in business, there will be so many new inventions that will make our life even more convenient and efficient. For example, if I work in trade business, I would be able to communicate with people all over the world at the same time. There will be a lot of occupations requiring computers as well including making softwares for various purposes like games. There are so many forms of ICT that will make my work look easier to do and look more professional through all my life.

The four components of the computers are input, storage, processing, and output. Right now while I post my comments on this blog, all four components of the computer are essential. For me to actually type in what I want to say, I need input devices like keyboard and mouse. Then, this computer will store the data. the computer also processes using processing devices like CPU, and finally the computer will show the outputs of what I originally typed in via output devices like monitor. After going through all of the four vital components of the computer, it enabled me to comment what I wanted to about this subject and let share it on this blog.

Before, whenever I completed a task on the computer wheter it was for an educational purpose, or for entertainment purpose, I never thought about what was going on in the computer to complete whatever requests it got from me. However, now that I leanred in BTT class what each components of the computer is doing, it is really astounding and overwhelming how Information Communiation Technologies are.

  62. Jhayesh, I believe your view on ISPO is indeed correct. You explained the four components well and onecan easily understand what you mean.

However, you did not answer the question: How would you use the ICT at home, at school and business?

Please post a new comment and include your answer to this question.

  63. The 4 components of computers are imput, storage, processing, and output. Input brings the information to the computer which is then stored. The computer calls this information for processing and the final result is outputted to the user.
This can be used to organize assets to increase efficiency. This will allow users to complete tasks faster and without assistance. For example computers can be used in cooking to determine the best possible method to prepare food. Computers can also be used to aid in household tasks.
In school computers can be used to mark students without the aid of a human.

  65. iamjhayesh: Excellent description of the components of computers. Can you pause for few seconds and think about how you will use the 4 components? I will look and think of how I will use the keyboard input data (assignment) at home, my computer will process it (CPU), I will save my document on my hard drive and later print it out to take to school to my teacher. This may be history, science any course will do. It doesn't have to be BTT assignment.

  69. Types of computers used for these tasks are generally microcomputers. These are the ones we use everyday to accomplish tasks, hence why they are considered personal computers. These are affordable, more so than supercomputers, which can process more data much faster.

At home, computer technology is used not only for online communication, but knowledge of the computer parts is useful when installing new software in knowing your computer's capacity.
ISPO benefits me because this is how computers operate. They operate through the constant cycle of input, storage, processing, and output, and the computer does all these tasks so quickly that we forget to think about how it works. These components all work together to make work easier and faster. An example would be posting this comment instead of delivering it verbally.

  70. How would you use the ICT at home, at school and business? Identify and describe the 4 components of computer and their functions when contributing to this blog. You should include the type of computer to use to complete each task.

    4 components of computer
    - Input
    - Output
    - Storage
    - Process

I would use these components when I am working at home, at school, and at business computers. For example, when I am working on an assignment and preparing for a power point presentation, I would use the four components usefully.
The four components of the computer and how they function when I am contributing to this blog, is fairly simple. The input device is used when I am typing text onto the comment box. Also, the output device is used when I am using the monitor to look at what I am writing. After, the storage device is used when I am writing the information, the computer is storing the data. Lastly, the process devices would be used when I click the “post comment” button, the computer will save my text and post it on the blog.
I can also use the four components of computer when I am working on an assignment. I would use the input devices by using the keyboard to write information on the power point. I would also use the output devices by printing out the script that I will use for the presentation. After, I would use the process device by writing the script with the Microsoft Word. Lastly, I would use the storage device to save my power point presentation into my USB stick, for me to present it at school.

Your explanation of how ICT technology is used in business, school and home is very good but when you were talking about your four computer components I think you should talk more about how each component of ISPO relates to each other Overall, very good job!

  72. I use ICT at home and in business class on the computer.
At school, I use the computer to do my electronic research and at school, I use it to surf the net and instant message. 8D
In a business, you could use ICT to do a variety of things.
You could use it to send e-mails, hold business meetings online or use it to store all of your files and projects.

The four components of a computer are
    - input
Input means to put data into a computer.
    Hence, the word in.
Examples would be a keyboard, a mouse and a scanner.
    - storage
Storage is where you can keep data in your computer.
For example, a floppy disk or hard disk would work well.
    - processing
Processing is when data is going through the computer.
When processing, computers use the binary code, for example 00100101011011.
And example of a processing device is the CPU (central processing unit)
    and - output

When posting this comment, it goes through all these four components because I use a keyboard to INPUT the words and phrases. The CPU PROCESSES what I am typing. If I wanted to, just for safe keeping, I could SAVE this comment to the hard drive and print it using a PRINTER (output) to hand it in. :D

  73. ICT is extremely important in our everyday lives since our society is becoming increasingly dependent on technological advancements and technology in general.

In just about every single large business, a large networks of computers and communication devices such as cellphones or blackberries allow us a fast transfer of information.

Computers also help everyone function in their homes with more ease since we can now quickly communicate with one another without leaving the house.

ISPO is the 4 main components of a computer. I stands for Input such as mouses and keyboards. S stands for Storage, which are basically hard drives, CDs, and etc. P stands for processing, which includes the motherboard, CPU, Graphics Card and etc. O stands for output such as monitors and speakers.

Further into depth, I can say that I type something into the computer using the keyboard (input), then the computer stores it on the hard drive (storage), it processes the information on a word document using the CPU and RAM (process), and prints it out using a printer at the the end (printer).

There are 4 general categories for computers: minicomputer, microcomputers, mainframes, and supercomputers. Minicomputers are generally the computers that we use everyday. Microcomputers are also used in our everday lives and are simple and average computers. Although minicomputers are not known very well, they are usually defined as a computer that is part of a mainframe. A mainframe is generally known as a giant computer that could only do one task long ago, but can now do simultaneous tasks at the same times. The supercomputer is somewhat of a legend since the supercomputer can process large of amounts of data and info in a very short amount of time. It is the most expensive type of computer.

Therefore, at most companies and businesses,we have a large networked group of microcomputers. Sometimes, there are also mainframes still being used at the older companies with minicomputers connected to it. Supercomputers are only used by high-level scientists and government operations due to the high costs.

ICT has also become an increasingly large field of development for scientists and entrepeneurs. Currently, the rate at which we are developing tehcnologically is steadily increasingly at a fast rate. The paradigm shift rate which is used by scientists to determine the technological advancements and the speed at which it quickens is stated by a simple formula. Basically, the paradigm shift rate states that the speed of technological developments double every half a decade. Therefore, by 2020,the amount of technological development we possess should be more than 32 times the development we have currently.

Also, the current electronic devices and peripheral devices we are utilizing in our everyday lives has become a large market. Many developments into cell phones and other electronic devices that attract teenagers (the largest group of money-spenders)have been made . So quickly have these developments been made that the value of technology is increasingly becoming obsolete faster.

ICT can be used for projects, presentations and research.
You can type reports by using word processing programs. Research can be done by the internet. You can use programs like Power Point for presentations. These activities can be done by microcomputers.

    4 Components of computer:
Input --> used to enter data
    Examples: keyboard, mouse, camera
Storage --> used to store information
Examples: Hard Drive, USB sticks, RAM
Processing --> process information by calculating
    Example:CPU
Output --> to show and present the result
    Example: screen, speaker, printer

I use the keyboard to enter my ideas. The keyboard is an input device.

  76. Lucy, I strongly agree with your idea about how we can forget about how a computer works. Knowing ISPO is like knowing how the human skeleton is structured, and we all know it's important to know that. Just like we might not know which bones we break, we may not know which components of our computing devices are in need of immediate repair.

  81. We use ICT in our everyday life for many things. They help make communication easier & more convienient. The 4 main components of a computer are:

    - input: putting data into computer (ex. keyboard, mouse, etc.)
    - processing: changing data into information(ex. CPU, motherboard, etc.)
    - storage: storing information in computer (ex. USB, floppy disc, etc.)
    - output: computer gives out information (ex. speakers, monitor, etc.)

There are also 4 different types of computers:
    - microcomputer
    - minicomputer
    - mainframe
    - supercomputer

At home, we may use a printer to print out homework, so the printer would be an output device. At school we use the computer to type up assignments, so by typing up the assignement, we are using the keyboard which is an input device. For business, there has to be a large network of computers to communicate the information. In businesses, they use computers to make their work more fast & efficient.

At home, I use ICT for things like commmunicating with friends, browsing the internet, or playing games. I can type all my assignments to print and submit at school. We use ICT for many purposes.

    I.S.P.O
    Input
    Storage
    Processing
    Output

Input is when we enter the data into the computer using devices such as a keyboard or mouse. Storage is when the computer stores the information. E.G. Hard Drive, USB. The computer then processes the information for us to use. E.G. CPU (Central Processing Unit) Output is when the computer gives us the information from input. E.G. Monitor, Speakers.

  97. ICT can be used at home by when I'm doing assignments, I can research online. I can also learn about new things in websites and computers help us to check our grammar (example: Microsoft Office Word 2007). ICT can be used at school and business the same as that method, too. Information and Community Technology can help organize files and have our work get finished faster. Futhermore, we can buy items and communicate online. For instance, instead of going to another country to buy a toy, you can order online and save your airport money.

Four components of computer and their functions:
    1. Input - to put data/programs into the computer
    2. Output - information/data given and displayed/stored in a device
    3. Process - the act of the computer taking data and converting those data to produce information
    4. Storage - when the computer keeps information in a certain device or the computer memory

    I’m going to re-answer this question
I would use the ICT at home by being able to research online when I’m doing assignments. I can also learn about new information in websites and computers help me with checking my grammar (example: Microsoft Office Word 2007). This goes the same for using ICT at school. Not only that, but I use computers to talk to my friends online in MSN and check my email on my account. ICT is used as an entertainment at home – I use it to watch videos on YouTube, play few games, and watch/read media, such as anime.
I use ICT at school by being able to work on my project that is usually to be presented. I can research and I can make PowerPoint or whatever program that has to be used for the presentation.
I don’t use ICT in business for the moment, but when I do, I probably will use it to do and organize work in files and communication. I would make advertisements, for example (for communication), to try to sell certain items. In business, making documentaries, having email, and accounting are three important factors. Therefore, I would make documentaries (e.g. report), then communicate to others by e-mail, and then deal with the currency, profit – the money. Basically, ICT would be used to make business more efficient.
Computers are improving as we speak, so in the future; there would most likely be more advanced tasks to use for ICT.
Four components of computer and their functions:
    1. Input - to put data/programs into the computer
    2. Output - information/data given and displayed/stored in a device
    3. Processing - the act of the computer taking data and converting those data to produce information
    4. Storage - when the computer keeps information in a certain device or the computer memory
I am using these components contributing to this blog by first, using input – I am commenting on this blog, so I am basically entering information into this computer. Then, processing method occurs – the comment that I typed converts into information by CPU. And then, of course, the comment gets shown on the blog, which is the output component. I now favorite this website, so that I can go on this blog in the future – that’s an example of storage.

Mini computers are the ones we use normally – they are called PC (Personal computers). So, we use these mini computers at school.
Nowadays, people, especially business employees, use Blackberry, iPod, etc.
Micro computers are smaller than main frame and larger than mini computers. They are computers that have CPU.
Net work computers are bunch of main frames connected/linked to each other.
Main frame are computers that big organizations uses. For example, banks need main frame.
Super computers are computers that help big tasks, such as weather forecast and missile trajectory calculation.
